First Worship Service at the Cathedral at Turner Chapel
The first worship service was held Sunday, March 20, 2005 in the new Cathedral at Turner Chapel. As designers of The Cathedral Stanley, Love-Stanley, P.C. was delighted to take part in this very special service. The Cathedral consists of a sanctuary seating nearly 4,000 people including the balcony. There are 30,000 s.f. of classrooms, offices and a fellowship hall. The chapel which is integral to the sanctuary level seats 300 people. A state of the art audio and visual system is also part of the building technology. The edifice is the largest AME church in the world.
